Heat the oven first
Gather your ingredients (the butter and eggs need to be at room temperature)
Line the cupcake pan
Sift the dry ingredients
Combine the butter and sugar (This step can take about three or four minutes)
Add the eggs one at a time
Add flavorings
Add the dry and liquid ingredients to the butter/sugar/egg mixture
Fill the cupcake pan
Bake immediately
Check for doneness
Cooldown before frosting
